Alt-Bionics: The Future of Affordable Prosthetics

Laggin’ Out isn’t always the peppiest place on the internet, but we had to share the great news relating to our technologically-driven world.

Alt-Bionics, a start-up that began as a course project, is going live after five years of experimenting, testing, and initial funding. Using modern technologies like 3D printing and medical sensors, Alt Bionics has opened their waitlist for prosthetic hands on their website.

With advertised costs at $600, accessibility and functionality are within reach of more people.

Articulated fingers and wrists grant users more mobility than ever for the price. Sizing can be adjusted to each person, whether adult or child. Children can have better quality prosthetics that can be replaced more easily as they grow.

Alt-Bionics has paved the way for new paths to mobility and independence and we cannot be more impressed and grateful. Everyone who’s had a hand in this journey should feel proud of such a milestone and we cannot wait to hear more from you!
